My practice STAR NATION REIKI is named after the path I was meant to walk as its meaning and significance is simply etched in my surname and thus, seeded in my ancestry and DNA. 諸 Moro means “various, many, several, together” and 星 Hoshi means “stars”, so together, 諸星 Morohoshi means something akin to the constellation or the STAR NATION. The term STAR NATION was reflected back to me at my first Sundance Ceremony at Pine Ridge, South Dakota by a Japanese Sun Dancer in 2004 and hence, the name of my practice STAR NATION REIKI was born. That said, I offer my deepest gratitude to my benevolent ancestors from this lifetime and all timelines and to the star beings always shining their light and guiding my path.
STAR NATION REIKI is a culmination of my life experiences made up of my deep love and reverence for nature and ceremony, a strict Japanese upbringing, dharma teachings, nearly 20 years of service to Indigenous communities and ceremonies across Turtle Island, queerness and a lifetime commitment to social justice and activism. All these deep practices, sensibilities, and ways of life cultivated over five decades of mi vida have informed my Reiki practice in hopes of a more loving and brighter world!
STAR NATION REIKI INSTITUTE offers an annual 6-day outdoor Reiki training retreat rooted in traditional Japanese Shinto, Buddhist and Indigenous Lakota based teachings in Mount Shasta also known as Buliyuum Puyuuk.

Reiki
Influenced mostly by Shinto, Japan’s indigenous spirituality with its mystical healing arts, Reiki 靈氣 at it's core is a spiritual practice that one embodies and the energy that emanates from the practitioner is Reiki. In simple terms, Rei 靈can be translated as “mysterious, miraculous or sacred” and ki 氣 means “invisible energy”; combined the two kanji characters in Reiki 靈氣 can be understood as “invisible energy with mysterious or miraculous power.”

ENERGETIC & SPIRITUAL CLEANSING WITH PLANT MEDICINE
Our plant medicines are mostly homegrown from our own garden or harvested in Mt. Shasta in prayer and with permission to see who wants to come down the mountain to help heal the people. Most of the time, they are very generous and happy to assist! If you are seeking to release/transmute any heaviness or stuck energy for yourself or a space, feel into whether a smudging and limpia may be just the thing for you.

REIKI Training & Retreats
Unlike any Reiki 靈氣 training in the world, “Returning to the Shamanic & Buddhist Roots of Reiki”™ harnesses the power of nature and the outdoors while weaving ceremony, Japanese folk medicine ways with indigenous practices of Turtle Island to train future generations of STAR NATION REIKI practitioners. Held annually in Mt Shasta (named after the Shasta Indian Nation), this 6-day Shoden (Level 1) & Okuden (Level 2) Reiki 靈氣 training is suitable for QTBIPOC folks and allies.
